Where is the fuse box on a Honda Civic 19? ›

The interior fuse box is on the driver's lower left side. The secondary under-hood fuse box is next to the battery. To open it, push the tabs as shown. If something electrical in your vehicle stops working, check for a blown fuse first.

The main fuse box is typically located under the hood, while secondary fuse panels might be inside the car, often near the dashboard or steering wheel. The fuse box for the ABS is located in the engine compartment on the passenger's side. To open it, push the tab as shown. 253 to 256, or the diagram on the fuse box lid, which fuse or fuses control that component. Check those fuses first, but check all the fuses before deciding that a blown fuse is not the cause.

Most vehicles have two fuse boxes, with one under the hood and the other in the cabin. You can usually find the other fuse box in the dashboard on the driver's side, but some manufacturers also place it below the glove box. If the interior fuse box isn't there, you can try checking the luggage compartment.

Usually, it will be in your garage or your basem*nt. Open the fuse box and look at the glass containers that hold the fuses. If you can see that the fuse is visibly broken, or there is metallic residue on the glass from the fuse blowing, you will need to replace that particular fuse.

Most vehicles are equipped with two fuse boxes. One is located in the engine compartment and is used to protect engine components such as the cooling system, anti-lock brake pump, and the engine control unit.

On the passenger side, there is also a battery, and the fuse box is located nearby. You will often find tabs on the side of the fuse box cover that need to be pressed in to release them. While most vehicles have the battery in the engine bay, some may not.

The secondary fuse is placed after the transformer's output points of connection on the secondary side. It acts as overload protection for the transformer. Its rating must not exceed the secondary current specified on the transformer. The choice of characteristic, slow or fast, is determined by the load.

Longer Braking Distance

Increased braking distance is also counted among signs of a failing anti-lock fuse. The rear bias is programmed for a specific combination of deceleration, vehicle loading and friction coefficient. All of these factors get disrupted due to blown fuse and increases the braking distance.

The ABS light comes on if there's a malfunction in the system. This includes blown fuses and damaged wires connecting the speed sensor and controller. Like any other electrical component in a car, the ABS is equipped with its own fuse – and fuses are prone to blowing up.
