ParentVUE/StudentVUE is on online portal to access grades, communications, and educational information.

The ParentVUE website allows parents/guardians to monitor their student's academic progress, attendance, assignments, grades, course history, and other educational information anytime, day or night. Teachers update data at different times. Please do not expect instantaneous updates.

Please note the following:

  • ParentVUE can be accessed by clicking the icons above, or by using this link: https://rcsvue.rochester.k12.mi.us
  • Each parent/guardian of record will receive a ParentVUE activation letter via email. This letter will guide you through accessing and setting up ParentVUE.
  • New families to the district with students who begin in the fall will receive their activation letters in August.
  • You may update your phone and e-mail information in ParentVUE by clicking on the "My Account" tab.
  • Schedules, bus, lunch, and teacher information will be available in late August.

How does the Activation and Account Setup process work?

Each parent/guardian will have their own ParentVUE account. Please use the information found below to login to ParentVUE for the first time.

Schedules, bus, lunch, and teacher information will be available inlate August.

Steps to follow to create your account:
  1. Go to the ParentVUE website - https://rcsvue.rochester.k12.mi.us
    DO NOT Google ParentVUE - there are hundreds of districts using ParentVUE and you may end up trying to activate your account in another district.
  2. Click on "I am a Parent."
  3. Click on theMore Optionsmenu and thenActivate Account.
  4. Type in your first name, last name, and Activation key exactly as they appear on your activation letter or e-mail - for example:
    First Name:Julia
    Last Name:Roberts
    Activation Code:ABCD123
  5. Choose a user ID, password, and enter your email address.
  6. Click on theMy Accounttab and verify your primary e-mail address and primary phone number. You can update the information if necessary. Be sure to check only ONE primary phone number and click on Update Account.This information is used by our notification system, SchoolMessenger, to provide you with school information and automated calls in the event of school emergencies, closures, or other important school information.

How can I get an Activation Key for ParentVUE?

If you do not have a ParentVUE account and have never created one, you will need a ParentVUE Activation Letter. Please email rcsvuehelp@rochester.k12.mi.us with your child's name and school along with your information. Your email address must match with what we have on file.

I forgot my password. How do I find it?

Caregivers can reset their own password (passwords must be at least 6 characters in length and cannot be the current password).

  1. Go to the ParentVUE login page.

  2. Click Forgot Password.

  3. Enter the email address that is registered with your ParentVUE account, click Send Email.

  4. Open the email and select the Click here to change password link.

  5. Enter the First Name and Last Name exactly as it displays in the account.

  6. Enter New Password and Confirm New Password. Click Change Password.

How do I access Online Registraton?

During the Online Registration timeframe, registration can be completed through ParentVUE. Please visit our Online Registration page for more information.

How can I find my student's district login information?

Parents can obtain their child’s district login via ParentVUE. Students in grades 6-12 are able to change their own passwords and ParentVUE will only display the initial password. If you need assistance logging into ParentVUE, please contact rcsvuehelp@rochester.k12.mi.us.

After logging into ParentVUE, select your student from the top dropdown. Click on Student Infoand scroll all the way to the bottom. you'll see a couple of fields that contain your student's login information.

How do I access my student's class syllabus?

Follow these simple steps to view classroom information in ParentVUE/StudentVUE for Secondary Students.

Look for this information to be added to ParentVUE/StudentVUE thefirst week of classes.

  1. Log In toParentVUE/StudentVUE
  2. If you have more than one student attending RCS, select the student in the upper left corner of the screen
  3. SelectGrade Bookin the menu on the left
  4. Click theTitle of the courseyou wish to view
  5. FindSyllabus and Classroom Infoin the list of first week items and click on it to view
  6. If a PDF is present, click on it to view

How can I see my student's Homeroom Teacher and Schedule?

The Homeroom Teacher field can be found under Student Info tab and scheduling information is available on the Class Schedule tab. Elementary and Secondary information will be available in late August.

Where can I find my student's Locker information?

Locker information can be found in ParentVUE and StudentVUE for 6th - 12th graders. Click onStudent Infoand it will appear towards the bottom.

Where can I find my student's Lunch balance?

Visit the Food Services Department on the RCS Websitefor more information.

From a browser, your child's lunch balance can be found within theStudent Infosection in ParentVUE.

We also recommend that you visit theMy School Buckswebpage NEED WEBLINK HERE from our Food Service Department. My School Bucks is a part of our food service program and allows parents to see their child's account balance, set up a low balance notification, review purchases, add money to their child's account and more.

How can I see my students' login information?

Students are given an initial password they will use until Grade 5. During that year, they will be taught how to change their password as part of their digital citizenship lessons.

Parents can see their student's initial password in ParentVue by going to the Student Info tab.

Note: After a student changes their password, ParentVue will continue to display the initial password. If a student doesn't remember what they changed their password to, they will have to get it reset in the Media Center at their school.

Can I report student absences in ParentVUE?

Yes! You can report your student's All-day absence via the browser or app version of ParentVUE for students in all grades TK-12.

Is there a mobile app for ParentVUE?

Mobile Access (iOS & Android)

The mobile apps for parents and students accommodate families’ busy schedules – from work to after school activities and weekend events. Parents and students may also access the web-based portals at any time.

It is important to note that many times apps do not have the same level of functionality as websites and we have found a few key differences, therefore, we recommend parents start with the ParentVUE website using a browser.

The apps are called ParentVUE (parents)and StudentVUE (students) by Edupoint. These are both completely free to install and use. Upon first use, put in our district zip code 48307 and select Rochester Community Schools. You will be asked if you have an activation key and would like to activate your account. If you already have a ParentVUE account, select 'Already Activated' or 'No.Next, type in your existing user name and password that you selected on the website and login.

To see bus and lunch balance information from the app, go to Student Info and then click on the Additional Info button at the bottom.

Note: you can access ParentVUE on your mobile device using an app OR by using a browser and going to the website to get more functionality.

What do I do if one of my children is not listed?

Please contact the Student Enrollment Department and they will be able to assist you.

How do I know if my child's Chromebook is the one that was assigned by the district?

In ParentVUE, click on Student Info and you will see a field called Chromebook Asset Tag. This number should match with the sticker on the bottom of the Chromebook. When accessing ParentVUE from the app, go to Student Info > Additional Information.

What is Annual Verification?

Annual Verification allows you to update your child's emergency contacts, health information, and more. This is required every school year. In ParentVUE, click on the Online Registration button/link at the top. Then select 'Annual Verification' to get started. This process typically takes 10-15 minutes to complete.

How do I receive district and building communications (SchoolMessenger)?

All RCS parents are automatically added to SchoolMessenger. We take the primary email address and phone number listed on your ParentVUE account. Visit our SchoolMessenger page for further details and help.
